Welcome

Visit-Welcome We pride ourselves on delivering a quality, professional yet relaxed style of Chiropractic Care. We aim to inspire you to take care of your most important asset, your health! We will listen intently to your health concerns, thoroughly assess your case and accurately recommend what is needed to correct your weaknesses to enable your health potential to be restored.

Your First Visit

Image Your first visit involves you providing important information via our health questionnaire. This gives us valuable clues about your health history. You can now download this form and complete prior to your visit (see above).

Following the paper work a brief tour will be conducted before the Chiropractic Assistants take you through to the consultation rooms. Your attending practitioner will complete your health history and add details where required. Upon completion you are ready for your Chiropractic examination.

Chiropractic Examination

Visit-Chiropractic-Examinat The aim of a Chiropractic examination is to assess the structural and functional condition of your spine. Included in this are specific Chiropractic, Orthopaedic, Neurological and Safety tests.

We have a sophisticated scoring system to give you an overall health score. This health score enables us to establish your start point. This allows us to set health goals. At a later date we are able to objectively track your progress with a comprehensive review.

Postural X-rays

Visit-Postural-X-Ray All our practitioners hold a license to take skeletal x-rays. Unique to Chiropractic are standing postural x-rays, which we take on-site at our Warners Bay and Mayfield Centres.

The purpose of x-rays is to firstly allow us to rule out any hereditary variations, bone diseases or pathology. Secondly they allow us to assess the shape and wear of your spine.

Generally x-rays are taken as part of your initial visit.

Report of Findings

Visit-Report-of-Findings The report visit is done on your second visit after your Chiropractor has completed, recorded and analysed all the measurements required to assess your spine.

At the report visit your Chiropractor will explain the overall findings of the physical exam and postural x-rays. This gives a full clinical picture and allows us to determine the type of adjustments best suited to your spine. We can also establish what visit frequency is required to retrain your spine and nerve system in order to restore your health.

Regular Adjustment Visit

Image Your regular adjustment visits are the most important of all! To keep you on track to achieve your health goals it is vitally important you follow the recommendations given to you on your report visit.

Each adjustment builds on the one before creating a healing momentum. As your adjustments hold and your health improves your visit frequency is reduced. At a pre-determined time, a full review will be conducted and rehabilitative stretching exercises introduced.

"There is a vast difference between treating the effects and adjusting the cause" Dr D.D Palmer (Chiropractor)

Special Appointment Workshops

Image We conduct frequent spinal health workshops. All new people are encouraged to attend a class within the first few weeks of care. The purpose of this is to provide essential information for you to get the most out of your care.

Topics include anatomy of the spine and nerve system, chiropractic adjustments and care schedules, x-ray overviews and examples of people who have experienced life changes through Chiropractic care.

Classes are held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. A lunchtime workshops is available every second Wednesday lunch time at 1pm. You are encouraged to bring family members and/or a friend.

The Chiropractic Assistants will help with scheduling a time that best suits your lifestyle.

Spinal Stretching Exercises

Image At a set time in your corrective care an extended visit will be conducted to teach you specific spinal stretching exercises. This involves your Chiropractor demonstrating and explaining specific movements to help re-train your spine and support your adjustments.

You will then try the exercises yourself and your Chiropractor will watch your technique making modifications if required. Computer generated instructions are provided to help with your implementation.

We have found the best long term results are achieved when people do daily spinal exercises. "Motion is lotion for the spine".

Re-Examination/Update X-ray

Image As a research based Centre we pride ourselves on objective results. As part of your care you will be re-examined and your results compared with your original measurements collected on your initial visit.

Generally this is conducted every 12 visits or six months, which ever comes first. Every 12months update x-rays may be taken to assess structural changes. With regular re-examinations you are assured of the best posssible results.

CHIROPRACTIC PHILOSOPHY

Chiropractors respect the innate ability of the body to heal and regulate itself.

We understand that interference in the communication between brain and body disrupts the innate mechanism to heal. Prolonged disruption reduces harmony within the body causing a decline in health.

Over time this environment promotes disease and illness to develop within the body.

Detecting the underlying cause and specifically correcting the nerve interference restores the innate communication channels. This in turn restores health and wellbeing.

CHIROPRACTIC PARADIGM

A model of natural health and wellness

Specific application of spinal adjustments to retrain subluxations. This allows your body to self-heal and self-regulate more effectively through an optimal functioning nerve system.

We are all born with the innate wisdom to be healthy.

MEDICAL PARADIGM

A model of sickness

Describe the complaint (diagnosis). Subsequently intervening from outside to inside to control or suppress a symptom.

It is reactive to sickness not the enhancement of health.

The medical model is best used for first aid or crisis care.
